Elpida "Hope" Caravassilis

Elpida (Hope) Caravassilis 85, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
Elpida was born and raised in Karpathos, Greece
She married at 18, migrated to Rhodesia, Africa and had five children.
With the help of her brothers John and George, and her sister Anika, she was able to bring her young family to America and worked in factories and in the family restaurant.
She left a legacy of being generous, loving, caring and compassionate with everyone she met.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Vassos. She is survived by her sons, George and his wife Vasiliki, John and his wife Lori, Vasilaki and his wife Tasoula, and her daughters Tasoula Demergis and Fotini Dalamaras and her husband Andreas as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted for the renovation of Historic church (Panagia) In Othos Karpathos, Greece.
Viewing will be held at Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union, New Jersey on Thursday, June 20th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
