Dolores Keihm

d. Jul 7, 2026

Union, NJ

Dolores Ann Keihm (née Russnok) was born in New York City on September 13, 1950 to Charles and Muriel Russnok (Ray). Her passing in Summit, New Jersey on July 7, 2026 has left a hole in our hearts that we’ll refill with wonderful memories, funny stories, and cups of coffee.

She was a loving daughter, treasured sister to Maureen Hartnett, Aunt Dee to nieces and nephews, a cherished wife, a friend to many, a protective cousin, an irreplaceable mom, and the most huggable Nana to Robert (also known as Bert). Dolores spent her formative years on Staten Island, lived in Manhattan, raised a family on Long Island, and eventually moved to New Jersey. Yes, she had an accent.

Dolores met the love of her life, Robert F. Keihm, at the copy machine while working in different departments of the same import/export company in Manhattan. Early date nights included grabbing Broadway show tickets from TKTS, eating free apps after work at the local bar, going dancing, and seeing concerts in Central Park. They wed on August 12, 1978.

Dolores and Robert were married for over 46 years, creating a love-filled home together for 34 of those years in Levittown, New York. An enduring romance that began at the Xerox machine produced two facsimiles named Moira and Colleen, who each share many qualities and the prominent chin structures of their parents. Though Robert’s passing on January 2, 2025 was devastating, and Dolores also left us far too soon, family and friends are consoled by the fact that Dolores is reunited with her best friend.

Bob and Dolores set an example of a loving relationship for their daughters built on mutual respect, sharing each other’s interests, having each other’s backs through the ups and downs of life, and filling your time on this planet with laughter, music, and as many unique experiences as possible. They may not have known the optimal temperature to store their wine collection, but they created a home filled with joy, music, and so many collectibles.

She had a sweet tooth and could drink anyone under the table - if the beverage was coffee. Robert preferred TastyKakes and Dolores loved Entenmann’s, but they made it work. They shared many adventures and travels together and with their family. Colleen and Moira plan to honor their parents by taking a trip with their husbands Curtis Miller and Steven Weigle, and with Robert, a burgeoning adventurer.

We mourn with Maureen, Paul and Maggie Keihm, Peter and Barbara Keihm, Dennis Duffy, and many others.

If you wish to honor Robert and Dolores, please do so in ways that put some kindness out into the world or bring a smile to your day. Go see some live music or a minor league baseball game. Raise a glass of pinot noir from Oregon or a buttery chardonnay. Donate to a local food pantry. Make someone a playlist of songs you enjoy so they feel closer to you. Tell someone that you’re proud of them. When the opportunity presents itself to do something unique or interesting, say “Hey, I came to party,” like Robert always did.

Stay strong and resilient in tough times and accept that “You can’t make it up” as Dolores often said. Hug your best friend.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering for Dolores at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday July 18 from 9am to 1pm, with a Celebration of Life being held at 12:30pm.
