Dolores Fortino

Dolores Fortino, 82 of Union passed away at home on October 21, 2025.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Dolores at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Tuesday October 28 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Michael's Church in Union on Wednesday at 10:15 AM. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.

Born in Newark, Dolores has lived in Union since 1967. She worked as a dedicated secretary for Prudential Insurance Company in Newark, a job which she very much loved and enjoyed, until her retirement 20 years ago. A devoted parishioner of St. Michael's Church, Dolores was deeply religious and took pride in her faith. She absolutely loved to sing, and had a song for each and every situation and occasion. Her favorite was Elvis Presley; she was a fan since she was 13 years old.

The daughter of the late Louis and Angelina (nee Amendola) Fortino, Dolores was the dear sister of Grace Fortino and the late Johanna Smith. She was the cherished aunt of Carol Stockl and her husband Robert, Edward Smith, Jr. and his wife Lisa, and the late Maria Ferrara; and her husband Frank. She is also survived by her loving great-nieces Tara Reynolds, Kelly Pinto, Lisa Rachel Smith, Rachel Grimes, Mary Smith, Catherine Blasko and Johanna Ferrara; and by her adored great-great-nieces and nephews Danny, Luke, Quinn, Noah, Nicholas, Majestic, Jaydon, Jameson, Grace, Emma, Gerard and Jack.
