Diane Mary Caravella

Diane Mary Caravella, “Dolly” to many at the age of 89 went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday January 18th, 2012.


She had resided in Union since 1977, originally from Hillside. Born in Newark, December 21, 1922, She is survived by 1 sister, Tina, 3 children, Herbert, Janet, and Diana, 8 grandchildren; Maria , Kim, Nicole, Donnie, Tony, Nina, Gina, and Danielle, and 8 great grandchildren; Alex, Emily, Griffin, Julia, Ava, Ella, Carmella, and Sophia. Diane is predeceased by her husband Peter, whom she was married to for 52 years, and 3 of her six children; Lucille, Donnie, and Peter.


As a faithful member of Evangel Church in Scotch Plains, Diane loved the Lord and put God first in raising her children. She had pride in her Italian heritage and her faith. You could always find her in the kitchen preparing meals for her ever growing family and often unexpected guests. Who she welcomed with open arms and an open heart.
