Cynthia Goldberg, a devoted educator and cherished family member, passed away on November 15, 2025. Born and raised in Newark, Cynthia dedicated her life to the service of others, notably through her impactful career in special education. She served as a certified teacher in East Orange for four years before spending an esteemed 14 years at Boylan Street Elementary School in Newark, retiring in 1996. Her commitment to nurturing and educating young minds left an indelible mark on her students and the community.

Cynthia's academic journey began at Kean University, where she graduated in 1979. She exemplified the spirit of lifelong learning and was known for her passion for education. Her love for reading extended beyond her professional life; she was an avid reader and a valued member of her long-time book club, where she enjoyed sharing insights and discussions about literature. In addition to her love for books, she was actively involved in the Berkeley Heights Women's Club, where she fostered friendships and engaged in community service.

Cynthia is survived by her loving husband, Stuart Goldberg; her devoted daughter, Valarie Goldberg; and her brother, Frank DonDiego. She also leaves behind her beloved sisters, Judy Morgan and Linda DeMartino. Cynthia was preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Salzberg, as well as her parents, Frank and Rose (nee D'Agostino) DonDiego. They will be remembered alongside her for their contributions to her character and the values she cherished.

Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love for education will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew her. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cynthia's life during the visitation on November 20, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave in Union, NJ. A Mass in her honor will take place the following day, November 21, 2025, at 10:15 AM at St. Michael's Church, 1212 Kelly St, Union, NJ.
