Concepcion Mendez (nee Amoeiro Feijoo) passed away on February 23, 2023.
Concepcion (Concha) was born in Picouto, Galicia, Spain on December 8, 1930 where she lived most of her adult life. She married her beloved late husband, Julio Mendez and had three children, Conchita (deceased as a baby) Julia and Amelia.
In 1979 the whole family moved to the United States where she worked at a handbag company before retiring. After retirement, she enjoyed spending time between Spain and the United States, helping raise her grandchildren and enjoying her beloved family.
She is survived by her daughters, Julia Alen and Amelia Montero. Her grandchildren, David Alen, Richard, and Jessica Alen, Edgar and Jennifer Pereira, Christopher Montero and David and Selena Da Silva as well as her great grandchildren, Audra Marie Pereira, Francisco and Santiago Alen and Rafael Da Silva.
Concha, was a peaceful and special person who was loved greatly by her family and friends. Her sweet smile will be ingrained in our hearts forever. She will be missed immensely and forever loved.
Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at The Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave., Union Wednesday, March 1 from 4-8 PM. There will be a prayer service held at 7 PM. Concepcion will be buried in Spain.
