Catherine (Kay) Giordano-Robertella

Catherine (Kay) Giordano-Robertella (nee Gesumaria) 85 of Seaside Heights, died on Saturday June 9th, 2012.


The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, on Thursday at 8:30 am. The funeral mass is at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Newark (Ironbound) at 10:30 am. Interment is in Holy Cross Cemetery, in North Arlington.


Visitation is Wednesday from 4-8 pm.


She was born Down Neck and was a teacher’s aide at Wilson Ave. School in Newark for 15 years. She was a member of the Rosary Society of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, and many other organizations from Down Neck.


Kay was married to her husband Dominick Robertella and the late Anthony (Mousie) Giordano. She was the mother of Theresa Marzulla and her husband Michael, Barbara Di Nicolas and her late husband Robert, Toni Giordano, and her fiancée Richard Picerno, and Kristine (Tima) Giordano. She was the sister of Donna Mc Gill, Joseph Gesumaria Jr, and the late Richard Gesumaria, as well as the grandmother of Mary Ann Peccia, Desarie Blume, Chasity Petriello, Raquel Di Nicolas, April De Oliveira, Nina Vera, Anthony


Giordano-Picerno, Georgina Giordano-Pallitto, and 5 grandsons-in-law Anthony, Tommy, Joe, David, and Steve. She was also survived by 10 great grandchildren.


In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be made to The Cancer Institute of N.J. Foundation, Tower Two Second Floor, 120 Albany St. New Brunswick, N.J. 08901-9919 in her memory.
