Catherine Pellerito, a hard-working woman known for her love of cooking and baking, passed away peacefully at home on January 27, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 22, 1921, in Newark, NJ, Catherine dedicated her life to nurturing her family with her culinary talents, often preparing her beloved manicotti from scratch and delighting them with cucchi, showcasing her passion for bringing people together through food. She also worked as a seamstress for Netti Dress Company for 20 years.
Catherine leaves behind her cherished son, Charles Pellerito, and daughter-in-law, Donna Pellerito. She is also survived by her son, Andy Pellerito, and daughter-in-law, Anita Pellerito. Her legacy continues with her grandchildren, Kathleen and Michael Lombardo, Fran Siino, and Toni Mascari Luisi. She adored her great-grandchildren, Jake, Lexi, and Ryan Mulcahy, as well as Scarlet and Sebastian Siino, and Nicolas and Luke Lombardo. The family is eternally grateful for Mercedes, her devoted caretaker of 3 years.
Catherine is predeceased by her beloved husband Salvatore Pellerito, her late sister, Lina Marco, and brothers Salvatore, Charles, Andrew, Anthony, and Joseph La Monica. She is also reunited with her late parents, Joseph La Monica and Antonia Patineo La Monica.
Catherine Pellerito will be remembered not only for her exceptional culinary skills but also for her unwavering dedication to her family and the warmth she brought into their lives. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
