Carol McCarthy

Carol McCarthy of West Caldwell, NJ passed away on June 7th, 2026 at the age of 76.

She led a quiet life and cherished her dogs and a few close friends. She had a penchant for numbers and accounting. She was a bookkeeper most of her life and continued to volunteer in that capacity after her retirement several years ago. Carol was President of Orphaned Pets, Inc., an animal rescue organization, and a tireless volunteer. She was a lifelong advocate for animal welfare focused on rescue, medical care coordination, foster placement, and community education. Carol has rescued hundreds of puppies and dogs since the 1990's, including her own. She leaves a lasting legacy of compassion and service to animals and the people who love them.

She leaves behind her cousins Charles Jaeger, Patricia Pinaud, and Susan Jaeger and her very close friend of 45 years, Ellen Reichal. She also leaves behind her beloved dogs, Sofie and Sadie. She will be dearly missed by all. She is predeceased by her mother and father Dorothy and John McCarthy.
