Carmine D’Addona, 90, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on Wednesday November 16, 2011, surrounded by his family of Hillside,
Carmine was the beloved husband of 55 years to the late Clara (nee DiMeola). He is survived by four children, Amy Stevens and her husband Nick, Angelo and his wife Joanne, Pat and his wife Cathy, and Lucille Piccolo and her husband Danny. He also leaves a daughter-in-law Linda D’Addona, wife of his late son Carmen Jr.
He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Antoinette Castellano. He was predeceased by his sister Peggy Christiansen.
Born in Newark, Carmine lived in Kenilworth then Hillside.
He was a veteran of World War II, and employed as an operations manager at Lionel Trains for 25 years and later at Mattel in the same position. After he retired, he enjoyed working in the Paramus School System as a security officer for 10 years, retiring 20 years ago.
Visitation at the Galante Funeral home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Saturday from 1 - 5 PM. Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Michaels Church in Union on Monday at 9:15 AM. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
