Carmella Delli Sante (née Giordano), age 101, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ.

Born on July 18, 1924, in Newark, New Jersey, Carmella was the beloved daughter of Gabriela and Carmine Giordano. She lived a long and meaningful life defined by devotion to her family, quiet strength, enduring love, and a fierce sense of independence. Known affectionately to all as “Mil,” she was a steady and comforting presence to everyone who knew her.

Carmella was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph Delli Sante, as well as her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Patricia Reilly and Angela Delli Sante; her cherished granddaughter, Jennifer Reilly; and her adored great-grandsons, Joseph and Jason Hunter, who were a great joy in her life.

A woman of deep faith and strong Italian values, Carmella lived her life centered on family, tradition, and love. She was especially known for baking the best cookies and made sure that whoever entered her home was made to feel warm and welcomed. She always had homemade meatballs in her freezer and fresh homemade sauce.

Visitation services will be held on January 28, 2026, at Galante Funeral Home in Union, New Jersey.

She is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband and loved ones who came before her, and will be remembered always in the hearts of those who cherished her.

Friends and family are invited to pay their respects to Carmella's life during a visitation on Wednesday January 28, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, New Jersey. A prayer service honoring her life will be held at 12:30 PM followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington.
