Carmela Fiasche

Carmela Fiasche, 79, of Newark, New Jersey, passed away unexpectedly on April 16, 2026.

Carmela was born on June 9th, 1946, in Coccorino, Italy where she lived until she immigrated to Newark, New Jersey in 1975. She spent her life as a mother, caretaker, and giver to both her family and her community. Carmela was employed as a cook in several eateries until she became the proud owner of Emilia's Deli in the Ironbound. She was known to everyone in her community for her kind-hearted and selfless personality.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Mercurio Fiasche. She is also predeceased by her brothers, Gaetano, Agostino, Michele, Antonio, and Gaetano, and her sister Rosa, and her grandchildren Natale and Agostino Jr.

Carmela Fiasche is survived by her loving children, Agostino Fiasche and his wife Caroline, Maria Rodrigues and her husband Armando, and Dominic Fiasche. She is also survived by her sisters Caterina, Antonia, Marianna, Maria, and Rosaria. Carmela leaves behind 3 beloved grandchildren, Gabriella Rodrigues, Victoria Rodrigues, and Domenic Ciccone, as well as her many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 259 Oliver St. Newark at 9:30 am. Entombment will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park.
