Carlos M. Feria, 70, of Springfield passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013, at home, surrounded by his family.

A memorial gathering in his honor will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave , Union, on Tuesday 7-9 PM.

Born in Havana, Cuba, to the late Carlos and Concepcion Mateo de Acosta-Feria. He came to the U.S. in 1960.

Carlos was the beloved husband of Doris for 28 years; brother of Julio; devoted father of Carl (wife Theresa), Cindy (husband David), and Michele, all from his previous marriage with Maria. He is also survived by his precious 1-year old grandson, Evan David.

Carlos, an Army veteran, amusingly and proudly referred to himself as a “no-nonsense type of guy.” He was affectionately known as a “man of action.” Welder, pipe fitter, electrician, plumber, mechanic, builder – a “Carlos" of all trades. He found his greatest joy working with and helping his family and friends.
