Born in Newark he lived most of his life in Springfield.

Brian was predeceased by his parents, the late William and Marion (nee Baccaro) Mentzel,

and his special aunt Virginia Baccaro, and his uncle Michael Baccaro.

He leaves behind his sister Cathy Mentzel,

his Aunt Virginia Ann Baccaro,

cousins Carol Monge, Patricia Biggerstaff, Mary Clark, and Michael Mentzel.
