Anthony M. De Vita

Anthony M. De Vita, 75 of Union passed away on January 24, 2026.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Anthony at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave. Union on Thursday January 29 from 7-9 PM, with a prayer service being held at 8:30 PM. Anthony will be interred at St. Teresa Cemetery in Summit on Friday January 30 at 11 AM. Those attending the burial are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM.

Born in Solofra, Italy, Anthony immigrated with his family to Newark, and was raised in Berkeley Heights. He was a skilled contractor and carpenter. A master craftsman that could build or fix just about anything, Anthony's creativity shined bright. Always dancing throughout the house, he was a great chef and never failed to delight his family with his terrific Italian cooking. He treasured time spent tending to his garden, was always proud of his tomatoes. 

Anthony is survived by his loving children Heather Hoffman and her husband Giuseppe Paparatto, Marisa Dufort and her husband Alex, Tiffany De Vita and Tara De Vita; his grandchildren Abbey, Valentina, Andrew and Joe, and by his dear friend and mother of his daughters, Carol Wall.
