Andrew Ditri

Andrew Ditri, 94 of Springfield passed away on November 2, 2017.

The funeral is from the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union on Wednesday at 9 AM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. James Church in  Springfield at 10:30 AM. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover. Visitation is on Tuesday from 3 - 8 PM at the funeral home.

Born in Newark, Andy lived in the Ironbound section before residing in Springfield for many years. He started out as a Longshoreman and progressed to the assistant position along side of the President of the Union Local 1235 in Newark. He was also a Union official with Local 1235 and the Union representative with International Longshoreman Association before retiring in 1990.

Andy is the beloved husband of Edith (nee Orlando); loving father of Maria Bellas, and the late Andrew Ditri (Andy Boy); dear grandfather of Ronnie, Andrea, Deanna, Jodi, and Andy; and great-grandfather of Drew, Landon, Andi, Jack, and Vincent.
