Amparo Chamorro

Amparo Chamorro, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in Union, New Jersey. She was born on January 8, 1948, in Colombia, and spent her life dedicated to her family and faith.

A woman of deep spiritual conviction, Amparo was devoted to God and actively involved in her community as a parishioner at Immaculate Conception Church in Elizabeth. Her faith was a guiding force in her life that she instilled in her children and grandchildren.

Amparo was a wonderful mother, grandmother, known affectionately as “Abba” by her loved ones. She is survived by her children Manuel Barona, Hugo Barona, and Patricia Barona, who carry forward her legacy of love and devotion. Her grandchildren, Nicole Barona, Matthew Barona, Dalila Madrid, Alejandro Arias, Lizzette Barona, and Manuel A. Barona, were a source of tremendous joy for her, and she took great pride in being an integral part of their lives. She is also survived by her daughters-in-law, Irene Rosero and Marisol Barona, who appreciated her warmth and guidance.

In addition to her family, Amparo cherished her hobbies and interests, which included traveling to Mexico and the Dominican Republic, experiences that brought her much joy. Her memory will continue to reside in the hearts of all who knew her.

Family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects during visitation on December 26, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home-Union Location. A funeral service will take place the same day at 6:00 PM at the same location.

Amparo Chamorro's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and cherished memories. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion that will be remembered and celebrated by her family and friends.
