Aida Navarro

d. July 23, 2025

Aida Navarro passed away on July 23, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on February 5, 1948, in Ecuador, Aida was a beacon of kindness and warmth throughout her life.

Aida's journey in education began with her Bachelor's degree in education, which she used to touch the lives of countless students. Her devotion to teaching went beyond the classroom; she carried an innate ability to nurture and guide everyone around her. Aida was known for her selfless love, often embodying a motherly figure to many, her caring and nurturing spirit leaving a profound impact on all who had the privilege to know her.

Those fortunate enough to witness Aida’s culinary skills remember her especially well for the way she adored cooking white rice for her beloved grandson, Nasir. It was in these simple moments, surrounded by family, that Aida found true joy, often creating meals that brought everyone together. Her passion for cooking extended beyond her immediate family as she also cherished sewing clothes, crafting countless “special occasion” outfits for proms and weddings, and bringing a touch of her unique love into every stitch.

Aida was a joyful spirit who enjoyed life’s little pleasures. Saturdays were spent with her husband, Luis Navarro, as they browsed through the stalls of the Englishtown flea market, finding treasures amidst the hustle and bustle. Her sense of humor and love for joking caused laughter to fill the air wherever she went, making her an unforgettable light in the lives of her friends and family.

She is survived by her loving husband, Luis; children Cindy Navarro, Cesar Navarro and his wife Shanika, and Cliff Navarro and his wife Kerrian; her grandchildren Nasir Navarro, Zyanna and Zyleese Jones, Gabrielle, Karielle, and Brielle Navarro; and her dear siblings, Carlos, Walter, Jorge, Ruth, Yolanda, Enriqueta and Julia, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

Aida's legacy will be one of love, generosity, and joy, continuing to live in the hearts of those she has touched. She joins her late family members, including her father, Francisco Orellana; her mother, Julian Orellana; and her brother, Francisco, who welcomed her with open arms.

Visitation will be held on July 27, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Galante Funeral Home at 2800 Morris Ave, Union, NJ.
