Natalie Vital

Natalie Castillejo Vital went to be with our Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the age

of 79. Having predeceased her husband, Diosdado Vital and her children, Maria and Giovanni,

she has always been a light of relentless faith and unconditional compassion.

Born July 27 th , 1940 in the Philippine province of Gamu, Cabagan, Natalie was one of six

children growing up. She graduated from the University of Santo Tomás with a Bachelor of

Science in Education and became a teacher for elementary school students in her early

adulthood. She would meet her husband, thereafter, having two children and decided to reside in

Angeles City, an hour north of Manila. In those days, she spent her time assisting her husband’s

local furniture business as a secretary and treasurer. Alongside her role of being a mother to two,

she has always stood out to be an icon of selflessness and love. Built on the foundation of a

strong Catholic faith, there was never a day that past where she didn’t pray. It was this love for

prayer and Rosary that truly brought her the strength and courage to endure the many difficulties

    in life.

By 1987, Natalie would come to the States to join her husband in supporting their son in

the US Navy. Shortly after, the couple would move to New Jersey to reunite with their daughter

and to meet their niece’s children: marking the beginning of Natalie’s life as a full-time

grandmother. It was her peaceful aura, her ability to approach things with grace, and her

persistence to give and give until she could no longer provide that would give her the utmost

semblance of a saint. Indeed, Natalie left the world with the legacy of a loving wife, mother, and

grandmother to all the people she had touched in her lifetime. Her pious character of kindness,

integrity, and devout charity will forever live on in our memory. Heaven has truly gained a

    ruthless prayer warrior.
