Dionigi Maladorno, M.D., 60 of Verona passed away on April 30, 2019.
A Funeral Service will be celebrated in the Galante Funeral Home, 54 Roseland Ave. Caldwell on Friday at 12:30 PM. Cremation will be held privately. Visitation is on Friday from 10 AM to 1 PM at the funeral home.
Born in Milano, Italy, on Aug.3, 1958 to Amelia Gazzera Maladorno and Tito Maladorno.
Dionigi attended the Classical Lyceum (High School) Omero in Milan and graduated in 1977.
He subsequently obtained in 1983 his MD degree with an "A" average, from the University of Pavia in Italy. During these years his main hobby was archeology, as a member of the Gruppi Archeologici d'italia Association.
Between 1973 and 1983 he participated in several archeological field research activities and to some publications on Italian and Maltese prehistoric findings. In 1984, he was called to military service where he served for one year in the Alpini Mountain Corps, Cadore Division, as a field medic. Also in 1984, Dionigi was hired as a local MD monitor for clinical trials at Hoffman- LaRoche in Milano, Italy. Later, he requested and obtained to be assigned to a small post in the Dolomite mountains. After completing his military service, Dionigi worked in family practice while attending the Medical Specialty School in Infectious Disease at the University of Pavia, graduating with an "A" average in 1988.
In 1989, Mr. Maladorno was offered a position as assistant director in the clinical trial unit of infectious disease at Hoffman-LaRoche in Nutley, NJ. He worked there until September 2001, when he began work as Director of the Department of Drug Safety at Novartis Pharmaceuticals in East Hanover, NJ.
Dionigi is survived by his loving daughter Noelle Maladorno, and son Giancarlo Maladorno; and by his beloved girlfriend Marina Bloshteyn. He is also survived in Italy by his sister Donatella and by his brother Leonardo and their families.
