Thomas E. Giorella

          Thomas E. Giorella 74, of Brick, N.J. died on Sunday Jan. 7, 2018 at Care One at Wall Care Center, in Wall, N.J. surrounded by his loving family.

The funeral will be from the Galante Funeral Home 2800 Morris Ave. Union, N.J. at 9 am on Thursday.

The funeral mass will be in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in Newark (Ironbound), at 10:30 am.

Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery in North Arlington, N.J.

Visitation will be on Wednesday. From 4-8 PM.

          Born in Newark, N.J. he lived in Green Brook, N.J. for 25 years, before moving to Brick 7 years ago.

He was an Operating Engineer for Local 825 in Springfield, N.J. for 40 years, retiring 7 years ago.

          Thomas was married to his wife Carmella L. (nee D'Allessio)

for 49 years,

and is the father of Christopher T. Giorella and his wife Laura, and Carmine R. Giorella and his wife Tracy.

He is also survived by his brother Gerald Giorella, and his 4 grandchildren Alexis, Christopher Jr. Anthony, and Vincenzo, and was predeceased by his parents Vincenza (Vinnie) (nee  Ricozzi), and Alphonse Giorella.

Very sorry to hear of Tommy's passing. I had worked with him on several jobs as a Operating Engineer and found him to be very talented, knowledgeable, friendly gentleman. Rest in peace my friend and brother.

So so sorry for your loss ......I can honestly say my brother in law Tommy was the most gentle and careing man....not ever a bad word to say about anyone you will be missed

One of the best lead engineers I worked for! Interstate steel at Newark airport!,around 18 years ago! I know where he’s at now with all the great leaders who past on!

Carmela, Chris, Carmine and family. I was so sorry to hear of Tom's passing. Many memories of your family. Sending sincere and heartfelt sympathies. May god grant you strength at this very difficult time. Your in my thoughts.
